Malaysia - the Right Livelihood College | ![]() |
The year began with Jakob and Ole von Uexkull travelling to Malaysia to attend the inauguration of the Right Livelihood College. This new global educational initiative aims at disseminating and enhancing the knowledge of our Laureates. Lectures and seminars given by Right Livelihood Award Recipients, as well as scholarships to students to analyse and document their work are part of the RLC's agenda.
Right now, the College's Director Anwar Fazal, a Right Livelihood Award Recipient himself, is busy preparing the ground for the incorporation of several more partner universities into the program.

What motivates and enables individuals to try to change society?
This question led our former intern Sarah Wohlfeld to India, where she met civil society activists, among them several Right Livelihood Award Laureates.
Along the way Sarah sometimes found out more about India than she wanted to know. Tourist, researcher, a woman travelling alone - her report is not quite what you get from a Lonely Planet.
