Ole von Uexkull, Executive Director

Ole leads and coordinates the work of the Foundation. His main tasks are strategy development, research, representation, fundraising, and financial management.
Ole holds Masters degrees in Environmental Science (Lund University) and European Studies (Freie Universität, Humboldt Universität, and Technische Universität Berlin). He has earlier worked at the German Parliament in Berlin, the United Nations Environment Programme in Paris, and the European Parliament in Brussels. Ole first worked with the Foundation as an intern in 1997 and later as an independent researcher and consultant. He is the nephew of the founder Jakob von Uexkull.

 

Kajsa Övergaard

Kajsa Övergaard, Office Manager

Kajsa provides administrative and organisational support for the secretariat and is the contact person for Swedish media. She  holds a BA (Cultural Anthropology/Third World Studies/Tropical Environmental Studies) from the universities of Uppsala and Stockholm and has previously worked at the Dag Hammarskjöld Foundation, the Nordic Africa Institute, Life Link, Swedish Save the Children and the Swedish Development Forum.

 

 

Birgit Jaeckel

Birgit Jaeckel, Consultant to the Foundation

Birgit is a freelance consultant to the Foundation responsible for communication materials and press. Birgit joined the Foundation first as an intern in 2005. She lives in Germany and holds a Masters degree combined honours in Prehistory, Palaeontology and Ancient History from the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg.
Birgit is a professional writer. Her first novel was published in Germany in April 2007.

Carmen Schaper, Intern

Carmen is working with the Foundation as an intern providing general support for all upcoming tasks. She holds a B.A. in French language and literature and European history from the University of Mannheim and is about to complete her Masters degree in European Studies (University of Hanover).

Julia Ekedahl, Intern

Julia works as an intern at the Foundation providing assistance in upcomig tasks. Julia holds a B.A. in European Studies with a focus on EU development aid from Malmö University, Roskilde University and Universidad de Granada.
